Kirk Barton
Kirk Barton was hired to teach and coach at Norcross High School in 1999.  At the time Coach Barton taught Health and PE, and coached football and girls track.  In 2007 he took over as Activities and Athletic Director.  In 2008 Coach Barton became a full-time administrator and ended his coaching career.  Since he became AD, Norcross High School has won 12 State Championships in Football, Girls and Boys basketball, Golf and One Act Play.  Numerous teams have had deep runs in the state playoffs, including state final appearances by the tennis team and a semi-final appearance by the baseball team.  Coach Barton was the 4-time region AD of the year during his tenure (2013,2020,2021, and 2023).  He was the 2-time Classification (6A and 7A) AD of the year for the State of Georgia (2013, 2020).  Barton is a member of both the GADA (Georgia Athletic Directors Association) and the NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association).  Coach Barton has always supported the Fine Arts Department at NHS since he became an administrator.  He was given the award of Honorary Thespian by the Norcross Players in 2010.  Coach Barton is married to his wife Stacie, and they have 2 granddaughters.
