Flex Room
For the 2021-2022 school year, the Foundation funded the furnishing of a new multi-purpose space at NHS. When the current NHS location was built in 2001, the space functioned as an engineering room with many individual workspaces. With a move to collaborative education, a need for the 3DE program to have a presentation space, and a need for the school to have a multi-function meeting area, the former engineering room was demolished to make way for a versatile, multi-functional work environment for students, staff, and even the community to gather and work collaboratively. The newly named Flex Room seats 150 at tables with outlets for charging laptops. The collapsible tables allow the room to be cleared for even more attendees in a lecture setting. The two screens and wifi connectivity make presentations accessible in the large space. The mobile white boards allow students to work in groups and share their work with other teams. Despite renovations beginning in late spring, the space was completed in time to host the August Foundation Board meeting!
