Dave and his family have lived in the Norcross/Peachtree Corners community since 1980. After being raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee he attended Georgetown College (KY) and Georgia Tech, where he earned a degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering respectively. Following graduation, he spent thirty years working in the defense aviation business with L-3 Technologies Display Systems designing display systems for use in military aircraft cockpits. During the latter half of my career, I served as Chief Scientist for our division, responsible for all research and development. Dave retired from this position in 2010 and since then has served our community in a variety of ways.
Mr. Huffman has supported NHS throughout the years, while his son attended and in the years his graduation. His favorite experiences with the school have probably involved working and helping out with the marching band at Norcross. Dave has also served as the president of the Peachtree Corners Festival committee which is responsible for putting on community events including a summer festival and annual holiday parade. Dave is also involved in his church, where he has worked with the refugee resettlement in Gwinnett County since 2011. Additionally, he is a Sunday School teacher for elementary and middle school children.
He met his wife, Laura, at Georgia Tech and they have been married for 30 years. They have one son, Matthew, who graduated from Norcross High and Georgia Tech. Besides Matthew, they have three cats who have the run of the house. Dave and his wife are proud to support the Norcross Foundation for Excellence and its many endeavors that help make Norcross High School the best experience possible for the next generation of young leaders!
