The Peachtree Corners Business Association (PCBA) presented a $500 check to the NHS Foundation of Excellence at their January 2023 Business After Hours Speaker Series event. The aim of the NHSFE is to raise funds to ensure that all students receive the best possible education and resources. NHS is a Title I school, offering the International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme, with a diverse student population. About 52% of students are Hispanic, 28% are African American, 13% are White, 4% are Asian, and 3% identify as “Other.” Over 35 different languages are spoken among the students, two-thirds of whom are eligible for free and reduced lunch.
“We are honored to donate $500 to the NHSFE, in line with our belief that all students are capable of success,” said Lisa Proctor, PCBA President. “The programs of excellence in academics, arts, and athletics offered by the NHSFE have impressed our Outreach Committee and Board. With our commitment to supporting our community, we are excited to play a part in the success of these students.”
The funds for the PCBA Community Outreach program are generated throughout the year through PCBA membership, sponsorship, and their annual charity event. Donations and scholarships are awarded at their monthly events, giving members the chance to learn more about the organizations being supported.
