Lynne Z Kliesrath
Lynne Zickel Kliesrath began volunteering at Walnut Grove Elementary in 1996 when her oldest daughter started kindergarten.  She continued to be an active volunteer in the Collins Hill cluster until her twin daughters graduated in 2010.  She served on all three schools’ PTA Executive Boards and their School Councils.  Among her many volunteer jobs, Lynne chaperoned countless school trips, was the Marching Band Color Guard Vice President for five years and was also on the Superintendent’s Council of Community Advisors with Mr. Wilbanks. Lynne was a substitute teacher and became an official GCPS employee in 2008. She came to Norcross High School in August 2010, and worked at the Welcome Desk in the front lobby. She briefly worked in the front office, was a discipline clerk for John DeCarvalho, and has been in her current position for over seven years as the athletic assistant for Norcross’s Athletic Director Kirk Barton.  In addition to booking buses to get the Norcross athletes to away games, running the main gate at varsity football games, keeping up with multiple calendars, managing sports physicals, and “other duties as assigned,” Lynne also helps plan and facilitate Norcross faculty events and is an integral part of the Campus Safety Team.  Lynne has been the Assistant Coach of the Norcross Step Team for multiple years.  In 2020-21 Lynne received the Dave Hunter Community Service Award from the Gwinnett County Touchdown Club. She was also named “Staff Member of the Month” in November 2022. Lynne is originally from Ohio and moved to the Atlanta area in 1987. She met her husband John in 1988. They were married in 1990 and live in Lawrenceville.  Her family consists of three daughters, Jenney, twins, Mallory and Blayne, two stepsons and their wives, Geoffrey & Sharon, and John & Ashley, and three grandchildren, Kiersten, Tripp, and Hadley. In her spare time, Lynne enjoys baking and cooking, relaxing with her cats, doing puzzles, painting watercolors, and has been reading with her friends in a monthly book club since 2006.
